First Approach to Tango

 

Out there in the Mass-Media there is a lot of misleading information about what Tango is.

So we have prepared this short paragraph to introduce Tango to newbies.

Let's clarify : Tango people don't go around kicking in the air with a rose between their teeth :-)

The style of social Tango most commonly danced in the world is TANGO DE PISTA / TANGO SALON.

The primary purpose of learning Tango is the will of going dancing in a Milonga (a Tango Party) to socialize and dance with dancers you don't know (Tangueros don't dance with a fixed partner) or eventually to join a Competition.

(even this is still debated by half of  the world's Tango population: whether Tango should have competitions as it is seen as a purely artistic/social form of dancing)
